Having preferences means having weaknesses…

I have preferences. For example, about food. I prefer pasta cooked not too mushy. I prefer mushrooms to not exist in big pieces. I prefer onions to be soft. I prefer non-melon fruits. What weaknesses does this give me? Am I missing some possible enjoyment from life because of these things or is it something different? Is it a weakness as in a fault, a way someone can take me out of the game?
Maybe.
I prefer for fun to reading for school. This seems like a more obvious one. Still, though… I wonder if what he said is relevant to me.
